This version of MudMaster reports the actual winsock error reported by the connection to your MUD has a problem. They tend to sound bad but really they are simple situations

  1. You are connected to a MUD and the network connection to them lags out. If the lag is sufficient to break your connection you'll be told:  An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
  2. You are not connected to a MUD and try to connect but the network somewhere between your machine and the MUD you are trying to connect to is down, you'll be told: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
  3. You are not connected to a MUD and try to connect to one but the MUD server is down, you'll be told  No connection could be made because the target computer actively refused it.

So why didn't it say that in the first place?
